Rasa - On Thursday, November 16, Iran’s Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei warned that the US and Israel may hatch a new plot against the Muslim world following the end of the reign of ISIL Takfiri terrorists in Iraq and Syria.

RNA - Ayatollah Khamenei said, “Although ISIL reached its end in Iraq and Syria, one should not ignore the deception of enemies as the US, Zionism and the lackeys will not stop the animosity against Islam and they may hatch and implement a plot similar to ISIL and the likes in another region.”

The Iranian Leader further underlined Tehran’s determination to stand against any plot by Israel and global arrogance to instigate wars among Muslims, noting that Iran will emerge victorious in such a campaign as it did so in its fight against ISIL in Iraq and Syria.

Per usual, a number of points could be made in this respect:

- There is no doubt that the United States is responsible for the ongoing instability in the Middle East and its fight against ISIL is a lie. After all, it wasn’t the US and company that defeated ISIL in Iraq and Syria; it was the allied forces of Iran, Syria, Iraq, Russia, Hezbollah and the Popular Mobilization Units that carried out the historic task. Any doubters should ask the governments and the long-suffering people of Iraq and Syria.

- The United States and its agents created the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) to sow discord among Muslim nations and partition Iraq and Syria on sectarian lines. They tried to do so with Saudi cash and Israeli intelligence. That says why. Iran has no intention of normalizing ties with the United States – the US government is against an independent Iran. They have problems with the existence of the Islamic Republic and not just with its civilian nuclear program or defense power.

- Much like Al-Qaeda, the ISIL is made-in-the-USA, an instrument of terror designed to divide and conquer the oil-rich Middle East and to counter Iran’s growing influence in the region. The fact that the United States has a long and torrid history of backing terrorist groups will surprise only those who watch the “fakestream” news and ignore history.

- President Donald Trump has spoken out against Iran in harsh terms since taking office, indicating he will reverse the previous administration’s so-called attempts at rapprochement with Tehran. Trump claims Iran must stop funding and training "terrorists and militias". This is while the US and its regional ally Saudi Arabia are the ones funding hardline militants, including ISIL and Al-Qaeda, which even carried out two attacks in Iran killing 17 people earlier this year.

- The director of the National Security Agency under Ronald Reagan, General William Odom recently remarked: “by any measure the US has long used terrorism. In 1978-79 the Senate was trying to pass a law against international terrorism – in every version they produced, the lawyers said the US would be in violation.”

- During the 1970’s, the CIA used the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt as a barrier, both to thwart Soviet expansion and prevent the spread of Marxist ideology among the Arab masses. The US also openly supported Sarekat Islam against Sukarno in Indonesia, and supported the Jamaat-e-Islami against Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto in Pakistan. Last but certainly not least, there is Al-Qaeda.

- The CIA gave birth to Osama Bin Laden and breastfed his terrorist organization during the 1980’s. Former British foreign secretary, Robin Cook, told the House of Commons that Al-Qaeda was unquestionably a product of Western intelligence agencies. Cook explained that Al-Qaeda was originally the computer database of the thousands of Sunni extremists, who were trained by the CIA and funded by the Saudis, in order to defeat the Russians in Afghanistan.

Taken together, ISIL was America’s latest weapon that, much like Al-Qaeda, certainly backfired. The Wahhabi-Takfiri group was not merely an instrument of terror used by America to topple the Syrian government; it was also used to put pressure on Iran and deprive Israel’s neighboring enemies, Lebanon’s Hezbollah and Palestine’s Hamas, of crucial Syrian and Iranian support.

However, thanks to the sacrifices made by the allied forces of Iran, Syria, Iraq, Russia, Hezbollah and the Popular Mobilization Units, the terrorist group of ISIL no longer controls any city or town in the Levant. It has once again become a sleeper cell, only capable of carrying out suicide attacks and suchlike. America’s terror proxies are no longer able to attack its enemies in the Middle East, to serve as a pretext for US military intervention, and at home to foment a manufactured domestic threat, used to justify Muslim travel ban and the unprecedented expansion of invasive domestic surveillance.

America’s bogus War on Terror should be seen for what it really is: a pretext for permanent war and occupation and for maintaining a dangerously oversized US military to serve the Israel lobby, which directs US Middle East policy, and the Military-Industrial-Complex, which profits from the former group’s criminal actions against the Muslim world.
