Arab Daily:
Rasa - A leading Arab newspaper underlined that Washington which has failed in its plot to disintegrate Syria and use the terrorist groups to overthrow the Syrian government wants to destabilize the country and take revenge by keeping its forces in the war-hit state.

RNA - "The US project in Syria has failed and its winning card of armed opposition groups has been fully burnt," al-Ray al-Youm wrote on Wednesday.

"The US doesn’t want to admit the failure of its plots in Syria which cost billions of dollars for Washington and its allies and it is not surprising that it uses its forces, who are illegally deployed in Syria, as an instrument to destroy and take revenge; but these attempts are useless," it added.

The newspaper also stressed that the Syrian government is entitled to call on the US to withdraw its forces from the country.

The US established a new military base in the regions that are under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), continuing to occupy Syrian territory, an SDF official said earlier this month.

A senior SDF official, who requested to remain anonymous, said that the US had set up a military base in Raqqa city in Northeastern Syria, which was recently liberated from the ISIL.

"The United States is building military bases in areas freed by our forces from ISIL. We consider it to be the right strategy. Recently, the US forces established a military base at the entrance to the territory of Raqqa, in the Jezra neighborhood," the official added.

He explained that the neighborhood was chosen by the US army because it was slightly damaged during a military operation in Raqqa and can now be seen as the city's safest area.

"The base and the adjacent territory are reliably protected by the US soldiers. No one, except these soldiers and SDF fighters, has access to the base," the official concluded.
