Hezbollah/Lebanon

RNA – In an interview with Rasa News Agency, Gholamreza Narimousaei, an international relations expert and university professor in the southwestern Iranian city of Ahvaz, said that Sa’ad al-Hariri’s November 4th resignation as the Prime Minister of Lebanon was a “surprising action” by Saudi Arabia and noted, “Calling for al-Hariri and forcing him to resign, placing him under pressure to read a predetermined statement and detaining him were all surprising actions and such measures indicate the Saudi efforts to undermine the unity and security of Lebanon.”

He said that the defeat of Daesh in Iraq and Syria and the strengthening of Shi’ah countries after these failures has concerned Saudi Arabia and added, “We witnessed complete security and tranquility in Iraq during the Arba’in pilgrimage and such security is the result of the presence of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the vigilance and awareness of the sources of imitation. The successive victories by the Islamic Resistance Axis have worried Saudi Arabia and this has become a problem for them.”

Narimousaei stressed that Saudi Arabia senses that the Islamic Republic of Iran is a power which they cannot confront and noted, “Saudi Arabia’s plots were defeated in Iraq and Syria and therefore, they have now turned to Lebanon to engage in seditious plots. For this reason, Sa’ad al-Hariri is the best opportunity and glimmer of hope for the House of Saud to break the unity and security of Lebanon, while the Zionist regime seeks to attack of Lebanon and the Islamic Resistance Axis.”

He said that war and conflict in the region was not unlikely and stated, “Saudi Arabia must learn lessons from their many failures and by justifying their allegations against Iran and Hezbollah, they cannot tolerate the rising power of the ‘Shi’ah Crescent’ and the emergence of a new regional power.”

Noting that Yemen will soon join the Shi’ah Crescent, the international relations expert said that the pilgrimage of Arba’in al-Husayn and the globalization of this pilgrimage to the Iraqi holy city of Karbala today are the achievements of the victory of the Islamic Resistance, which “would be unbearable for the House of Saud.”

Pointing out that the minimum action by Saudi Arabia toward the Islamic Resistance Axis and Hezbollah is to launch a psychological warfare and said, “Disturbing the peace in Lebanon will be the minimum action by Saudi Arabia in order to incite the Lebanese people against Hezbollah.”

Narimousaei argued that among the other attempts by Saudi Arabia in recent days was to overshadow the massive Arba’in pilgrimage and said, “Political wisdom ruled that a conflict with Hezbollah would bring defeat to Saudi Arabia.”

al-Hariri announced his resignation on November 4th, citing several reasons, including the security situation in Lebanon, for his sudden decision. He also said that he realized a plot being hatched against his life.

He also accused Iran and the Lebanese resistance movement, Hezbollah, of meddling in the Arab countries’ affairs; an allegation the two have rejected.

The Lebanese prime minister announced his resignation following his visit to Saudi Arabia.
