RNA – In an interview with Reza News Agency, Hasan Hanizadeh, an international affairs analyst, referred to the resignation of Lebanese Prime Minister Sa’ad al-Hariri in Saudi Arabia and said that this fact, as well as the fact that his resignation was announced by the Saudi media, has astonished political observers and Lebanese people.
The political deputy of the al-Ahwaz World Network added that such an action is contrary to the constitution of Lebanon because the prime minister must present his resignation to the president and such a move by al-Hariri demonstrates a coordination to push for a new conspiracy against the Islamic Resistance Axis.
Hanizadeh pointed to the Zionist regime’s widespread attacks against Hezbollah’s positions in Syria last week and noted, “The United States has called Hezbollah a terrorist group and such moves testify to a conspiratorial American-Zionist-Saudi plot with the March 14 Alliance and Sa’ad al-Hariri against the Islamic Resistance Axis.”
The March 14 Alliance, named after the date of the Cedar Revolution, is a coalition of political parties and independents in Lebanon formed in 2005 that are united by their anti-Syrian regime stance and their opposition to the March 8 Alliance. It is led by Sa’ad al-Hariri.
He explained that al-Hariri attacked Iran in his statement of resignation and raised allegations against Hezbollah and said, “al-Hariri repeated the same allegations as the Crown Prince [Muhammad ibn Salman] and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia [Adil al-Jubayr] against Iran and Hezbollah. If they such actions are once again established by the appointed President of Lebanon [Michel Aoun], they will increase the ceiling of demands and bargaining and the ministers affiliated with the March 8 Alliance in the future cabinet of the government will be removed.”
Hanizadeh noted that new movements against Hezbollah will be launched after the resignation of al-Hariri and added, “Saudi Arabia continues to request an emergency meeting of the Arab League to review the resignation of al-Hariri at the level of foreign ministers. At this meeting, they seek to declare Hezbollah as a terrorist organization and condemn Iran.”
He described the failure of Saudi Arabia, the United States and the Zionist regime in Syria to be the cause of such crises in Lebanon and added, “The planned visit of the head of the Maronite Church of Lebanon [Bisharah Boutros al-Rahi] to Saudi Arabia would be unprecedented. Of course, such a trip will lay the groundwork for Saudi Arabia to create division between the Shi’ahs and Maronites of Lebanon.”
The international affairs analyst referred to Michel Aoun’s firm stance against Saudi pressure, noting that Saudi Arabia is pushing for the Maronites to distance themselves from the March 8 Alliance and Michel Aoun to prevent a lasting union between the Maronites and Shi’ahs.
Hanizadeh said, “In the future, the pressure on Hezbollah will increase and a new political crisis will strike Lebanon and Hezbollah, while Sa’ad al-Hariri will move the Arab world against Hezbollah by forming a movement against Hezbollah.”
al-Hariri announced his resignation on November 4 following visits to Saudi Arabia, citing several reasons, including the security situation in Lebanon, for his sudden decision. He also said that he realized a plot being hatched against his life.
al-Hariri also accused Iran and the Lebanese resistance movement, Hezbollah, of meddling in the Arab countries’ affairs, an allegation the two have rejected.
