Rasa - The international community should be “ashamed” of what they are doing in respect to the agony of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar, says an activist.

RNA - The international community’s response to the Myanmar government’s merciless actions against the Rohingya Muslims is “very disappointing” because ethnic cleansing and starvation are still going on and the world is doing nothing to stop it, Kyaw Win told on Tuesday.

“This is the most shameful moment in the human history” that “millions of people are homeless and hundreds of thousands of people are facing starvation,” the executive director of Burma Human Rights Network said.

The US, the European Union and Asian states are prioritizing “economic interests” rather than human lives, which is a disgraceful ignorance of the international community, the commentator said.

Over 600,000 Rohingya Muslim refugees have fled Myanmar for Bangladesh since violence against the persecuted minority erupted in Rakhine state in August, the United Nations says.
