RNA - Activists explained that Muftah was subjected to severe torture in death chamber and he was injured by his interrogators, Bahrain Mirror said.

The authorities transferred him on Monday October 16, to the hospital, where one of his genitals was removed. The authorities arrested Muftah on Tuesday (October 10, 2017) morning after forcibly raiding his house in Diraz.

Manama has gone to great lengths to clamp down on any sign of dissent. Scores of people have lost their lives and hundreds of others sustained injuries or got arrested as a result of the Al Khalifa regime’s crackdown, since March 14, 2011, when troops from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates were deployed to assist Bahrain in its crackdown.

Meanwhile, the Bahraini rights groups said regime forces have detained pro-democracy activists as the Al Khalifah regime presses ahead with its heavy-handed crackdown on political dissidents and rights activists across the tiny Persian Gulf kingdom, especially in the village of Diraz.
