RNA - Seyyed Ammar Hakim, chairman of the Iraqi National Coalition, told members of the third round of the Iraqi Youth Parliament that the preservation of unity is a red line in Iraq and should not be ignored.

He described law as “the best reference for dealing with domestic problems and conflicts”, adding that “the upcoming Iraqi parliamentary elections, which represents democracy and popular participation, should be held at the appointed time.”

The head of the Iraqi National Coalition called for formation of a popular government and strengthening of “spirit of patriotism”, and said: "Officials and people should be aware of the challenges and problems in Iraq."

He expressed gratitude for “great spirit of Iraqi youth that has led them to high levels of scholarship,” saying that “young people are the true and fundamental wealth of Iraq. Human capacities have made Iraqi enemies and foreign countries to feel greedy about this great and powerful nation.”

Sheikh Hakim emphasized the need for young people to enter the political career and stated that “regulations of organizing parties in Iraq allowed young people of the country to create their own titles and be active in the political arena within framework of law.”

He argued that the main problems in Iraq were solved and some sub-problems remained, adding: "Some in the current circumstances of Iraq are seeking to achieve their personal and political interests."

The head of the Iraqi National Coalition later added that Jalal Talabani always called for security and defending unity in Iraq. “We will also try our best to preserve unity of this nation with the help of God almighty.”
