Rasa - Yemeni Ansarullah movement forces repelled Saudi army troops' offensive in Ulaib mountain chain in Najran province.

RNA - A convoy of Saudi Army forces backed by mercenaries launched a head-on assault on Ansarullah forces based in Mountains of Saudi Arabia's Southwestern city of Najran, near the border with Yemen, in a bid to retake a series of high points that overlook much of Southern Saudi Arabia, Al waght reported.

 

However, the offensive backfired and proved fruitless after the Ansarullah-led Popular Committees and Republican Guard drove back the assault, not far from the Al-Khadra border crossing, and took out a couple vehicles and killed a number of Saudi-aligned troops.

 

According to a string a photos released by the official media wing of the Sanaa-based government, Ansarullah forces forced the entire Saudi convoy to pull back.

 

Saudi Arabia started a brutal aggression on neighboring Yemen on 27 March 2015 to oust the popular Ansarullah movement and restore to power fugitive Abdul Rabbuh Mansour Hadi who resigned as president and fled to Riyadh. The Saudis have failed to achieve their stated objective and are now stuck in the Yemen quagmire while indiscriminately bombarding the impoverished stated on an almost daily basis.

 

The 29-month war on Yemen, the most impoverished Muslim nation, has killed nearly 14,300 people and left tens of thousands wounded while displacing millions.

 

According to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), over 3 million people have fled their homes since the onset of the Yemen conflict, and more than 20 million throughout the country are in need of humanitarian assistance.
