RNA - Toxic smoke engulfed the streets of Bahrain’s Karzakan, Maameer, and Eker as police attempted to disperse demonstrators, Lua Lua TV reported.
Meanwhile, other parts of the kingdom witnessed more peaceful scenes with protesters marching in small groups, denouncing the persecution of Bahrain’s Shiite majority and the regime’s brutal crackdown on dissent.
In the village of Sanabis, on the outskirts of the capital Manama, protesters also expressed their outrage over the rising number of female detainees in Bahraini jails.
Last month, the Bahrain Forum for Human Rights (BFHR) recorded the arrest of 11 women who were detained for exercising their right to free speech and freedom of assembly.
According to the rights group, members of the country’s security apparatus committed “shocking crimes” against the women, violating local laws and customs.
