RNA - The ISIL terrorists' attacks to capture the government forces' positions in Deir Ezzur city were fended off by the strong defense of the Syrian military men.
Meantime, the Syrian army and popular forces continued their military advances in other parts of Syria, including Aleppo and Homs, over the past 24 hours.
Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured during the Syrian army's operations in other provinces across Syria.
Deir Ezzur
The Syrian Army troops, backed up by the country's Air Force, repelled ISIL's heavy attack on the pro-government forces' strongholds in the Eastern city of Deir Ezzur on Sunday, killing and wounding a number of terrorists.
The army soldiers, supported by the warplanes, engaged in fierce clashes with the ISIL and warded off their attack in al-Roshdiyeh neighborhood.
ISIL left behind a number of dead and wounded members and retreated from the battlefield.
In the meantime, the army units shot down a bomb-laden drone of the ISIL flying over the village of al-Jafrah in Eastern outskirts of Deir Ezzur city.
Also, the fighter jets pounded ISIL's positions in al-Roshdiyeh, around Tamin Brigade base, and in the two towns of al-Mayadeen and Mouhassa, in the villages of al-Shamitiyeh, al-Tabni, al-Masrab and al-Khariteh, destroying several positions and killing a number of terrorists.
Aleppo
The Syrian Army troops repelled several attacks of the Al-Nusra Front (Tahrir al-Sham Hay'at or the Levant Liberation Board) on their positions in Southern Aleppo, inflicting heavy casualties on the terrorists.
The army soldiers engaged in fierce clashes with Al-Nusra in the village of Talilat in Southern Aleppo and managed to fend off the terrorists' offensive on their strongholds.
The Al-Nusra suffered lost a number of fighters in the attack.
Satellite images released on social media earlier this month showed that the Syrian Air Force sent a number of fighter jets to Kuweires Airbase in Eastern countryside of Aleppo city to use them in anti-terrorism operations.
The satellite images showed a clear build-up of Syrian Air Force attack aviation at the Kuweires Airbase in Aleppo province.
The aircraft in question were L-39 light attack jets, a staple asset of the air force tactical airpower.
Based on satellite pictures taken of the nearby al-Nayrab Airbase (also in Aleppo province), it appears that the build-up of military aircraft at the Kuweires Airbase came at the direct expense of al-Nayrab.
The images show that at least nine L-39s of twelve once present at al-Nayrab Airbase were relocated to the Kuweires Airbase at some point in the last six months.
The official reason for the transferal of attack aircraft from the al-Nayrab Airbase to the Kuweires Airbase is unknown at this time.
Homs
The Syrian Army troops captured a number of key positions in the depth of Badiyeh (desert) in Eastern Homs along the international highway to Deir Ezzur, inflicting major losses on the terrorists, a well-informed field source reported Sunday.
The source said that the army units stormed ISIL's defense lines North of the town of al-Sukhnah along the international highway to Deir Ezzur and managed to impose control over several key positions.
The source further said that the Syrian government forces started to fortify their positions and cleanse the newly-freed regions to pave the ground for fresh anti-ISIL operation towards Deir Ezzur.
The source went on to say that the army men also managed to drive terrorists out of several positions West of the village of Manoukh in Eastern Homs, adding that the operation was carried out simultaneously with anti-ISIL attacks East of the town of al-Salamiyah to ease pushing terrorists back form the town of Aqayrabat and villages in its countryside.
The source further said that the Russian fighter jets carried out several combat flights over ISIL's convoys and positions in Aqayrabat region in Eastern Hama.
