Al-Azhar raps attack on the Shiite mosque in Afghanistan

RNA - Egypt’s watchdog for combating violence related to the Al-Azhar university strongly condemned the terrorist bombing of the Shiite mosque in Afghanistan which killed and wounded more than a dozen.

Al-Azhar expressed its sympathy with the Afghan government and nation and the families of the martyrs and the wounded of this terrorist attack adding: “this brutal act is contrary to religious and human values.”

Referring to the defeat of Takfiri terrorists in Iraq and Syria, al-Azhar said that ISIS has changed its strategy to increasing violence in order to dispel the international community's attention from the recent failures that they’ve recently experienced.

Al-Azhar denounced the misuse of Islamic teachings by terrorist organizations saying: “ignorance have led many young people to be fooled by false statements of ISIL, and they want to spread terrorism all across the world with the belief that ISIL's opponents are infidels.”

The anti-violence watchdog said the attack on the Shiite mosque in Afghanistan was aimed at creating ethnic and religious conflicts, and that the Afghan people should be vigilant about the religious strife.

Stating that the enemies of Islam are seeking to “set the Muslim world on fire,” Al-Azhar invited the international community and human rights organizations to declare solidarity with the people of Afghanistan and stand by them in their effort to fight terrorism.

The terrorist blast yesterday afternoon in front of a mosque left nearly sixty people killed and injured. ISIL declared responsibility for the terrorist incident.
