In relevant remarks earlier in August, Secretary of Iran's Expediency Council (EC) Mohsen Rezayee in a message condemned the recent terrorist attack in Barcelona, Spain, and urged the western countries to avoid practicing double-standard policies towards terrorism.
"The terrorists have been instruments in the hands of the Zionists and western states over past years," Rezayee said in his message.
He reiterated the western countries have supported the terrorist groups, and said, "The terrorist attack in Barcelona which resulted in death and injury of many people and tourists was another alarm to make the international community aware of the threats of terrorist attacks on the West."
