Rasa - Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi on Friday condemned Thursday's terrorist attack in the Spanish city of Barcelona which killed at least 13 people and injured over 100 others.

RNA - "We condemn terrorist attacks across the globe as no country, even the obvious and secret supporters of terrorists, is immune to terrorist threats, is immune to terrorism’s threats," Qassemi said.

 

The Iranian foreign ministry spokesman sympathized with bereaved families of the victims of the terrorist attack, the Spanish government and nation on the sad and tragic incident.

 

Qassemi said that global problems should be settled using international solutions, and called for a global unity against terrorism.

 

"All peacekeeping countries should responsibly and credibly form a global alliance against violence, insecurity and terrorism," the Iranian foreign ministry spokesman said.

 

At least 13 people were killed and 100 injured on Thursday when a driver deliberately slammed a van into crowds on Barcelona's most popular street in what police confirmed was a terrorist attack. Hours later, police said they had shot dead "four suspected terrorists" and left another injured in Cambrils, a city south of Barcelona.
