RNA - Local sources in the camp told Ma’an that Israeli forces raided the camp overnight, sparking clashes between local youth and Israeli forces.

The Qalandiya Media Center said in a statement that Israeli forces raided the refugee camp and went up to the rooftops of houses, opening live fire and stun grenades at youths.

One unidentified “youth” was injured with a live bullet in the leg at the entrance of the camp, and was transferred to the Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah city for treatment.

The center added that Israeli forces also detained a Palestinian “youth,” identified as Abed Ayed al-Shuani.

An Israeli army spokesperson said they were looking into reports.

Israeli forces have routinely been criticized by Palestinian leaders and rights groups for the use of “excessive force” and live ammunition during raids and clashes with Palestinians, during incidents that did not warrant a violent response.

Israeli raids in Palestinian towns, villages, and refugee camps are a daily occurrence in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, with a biweekly average of 95 search and detention raids carried out over the course of 2016, according to UN documentation.
