RNA - The families were given 72 hours to appeal the demolition orders, WAFA reported.
The Israeli authorities justified the demolition orders by citing unauthorized construction as a pretext even though the families have been living there for 50 years. The homes targeted with demolition are located near the Israeli army camp known as Anatot.
Israeli forces often target residents in that area in an aim to force them to the leave it as a prelude to seize the land.
Also on Thursday, Israeli forces shut down the main entrance to the village of Wadi Fukin, to the west of Bethlehem in the West Bank, due to the Israeli prime minister’s visit to a nearby illegal settlement.
Head of Wadi Fukin village council, Ahmad Sukkar, told WAFA that Israeli army and police shut down the main entrance to the village on Thursday morning, banning entry and exit of local residents.
The Israeli forces later informed the village’s residents that they will reopen the main road after Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu leaves the area in the afternoon.
