RNA - "The harshest sanctions in the past 100 years have been compiled against us. Our reaction to the US will be decisive and integrated," Rezayee wrote on his Telegram page on Sunday.

His remarks came after approval of a US Congress bill which passed both houses with veto-proof majorities and includes new sanctions against Iran, Russia and North Korea.

Lawmakers in the House of Representatives passed their version of the bill 419-3 on Tuesday, while the Senate voted 98-2 on Thursday to send the legislation to Trump's desk.

The White House announced on Friday night that President Trump intends to sign legislation imposing new sanctions on Russia, Iran and North Korea.

In response, Rapporteur of the parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Seyed Hossein Naqavi Hosseini announced on Saturday that the Commission has unanimously approved the generalities of a single-urgency bill to confront the US sanctions in an extraordinary meeting.

Also, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araqchi announced that the country will certainly reciprocate the US congress approval to impose new sanctions against Tehran.

"The recent measure by the US congress is a hostile move and the Islamic Republic of Iran will certainly adopt a decisive measure against it," Araqchi said after holding a meeting with members of the parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission in Tehran on Saturday.

Noting that the US legislation violated articles 26, 28 and 29 of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (the 2015 nuclear deal between Tehran and the world powers), he said, "Therefore, there is a need for Iran's reciprocal action."
