Rasa - Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani condemned Israel for its inhuman measures against the Palestinians in the al-Aqsa mosque, and asked the international community to stop the current trend of Zionists' brutalities.

RNA - "The extensive and expected reaction of the Muslim nations and their feeling of hatred for the Zionist regime's shameless move in barring worshippers' entrance to the al-Aqsa mosque showed again that occupation of the Palestinian lands and the holy Quds is a common pain of the entire Islamic Ummah and the Muslim world," Larijani said in a message on Monday.

"The Iranian parliament condemns the desecration of the al-Aqsa mosque and killing of the Muslim residents of the Quds city and underlines its all-out support for the brave Palestinian people in their fight for freedom," he added.

Larijani further called on the international institutions and bodies to show serious reaction to Israel's inhuman acts.

In relevant remarks on Sunday, the Iranian foreign ministry strongly deplored the Israeli regime for preventing the Palestinian worshipers from entering the al-Aqsa mosque, calling on the UN to rapidly and decisively stand against Tel Aviv.

"Continued extensive suppression of the Palestinian people by the usurper Zionists and their crimes, aggression and violation of the Palestinians' basic rights, specially restrictions on the freedom of religion and violation of the Muslim Palestinians' right of access to the sacred places in the holy Quds shows that the oppressed Palestine is still the main issue of the Muslim world," Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi said.

He expressed concern that Israel is acting as the main source of state terrorism and creates panic and horror in the region.

Qassemi called on the international and human rights bodies, including the UN and UNESCO, to act upon their responsibility to confront and condemn Israel's inhumane, anti-cultural and anti-human rights policies.

Palestinians across the occupied West Bank and besieged Gaza Strip participated in a “Day of Rage” last week to express their rejection to Israeli policies at the holy site, while clashes broke out during several marches after Israeli forces attempted to suppress the actions.

The protest rallies were held as tensions have continued to rise in occupied East Jerusalem after Israeli authorities implemented security measures at gates of al-Aqsa mosque compound.

Clashes between Palestinians and Israeli forces broke out in Ramallah, where three Palestinians were injured with live ammunition, and Bethlehem, where a Palestinian and international activist were detained by Israeli soldiers.
