Rasa - Deputy Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araqchi underlined that Iran is a pioneer in fighting the terrorist groups and drug trafficking.

RNA - "The Islamic Republic is now standing in the frontline of fighting two global challenges of terrorism and narcotics," Araqchi said in a meeting with Interpol Secretary General Jurgen Stock in Tehran on Monday.

 

Stock is currently in Iran to attend the two-day 13th Operational Working Group Meeting on International Counter-Terrorism Mechanism.

 

Araqchi expressed pleasure over close cooperation between Interpol and Iranian police, voicing Foreign Ministry’s readiness for helping promote mutual collaboration.

 

Stock, for his part, referred to good and close cooperation between Interpol and Iranian police in the field of fighting terrorism and drug smuggling, highlighting Iran’s significant role in battling these international crimes.

 

He also hailed Iran’s valuable experience in the field.

 

The two-day 13th Operational Working Group Meeting on International Counter-Terrorism Mechanism launched in the Iranian capital, Tehran on Monday.
