RNA - The source said that Iraqi officials are after increasing coordination with Damascus, Tehran and Moscow to strengthen security of Syria-Iraq borders.
He added that officials of the quadrilateral coordination room will focus on efforts to prevent creation of a buffer zone in Syria using Iraq's soil.
Noting that the Americans didn’t want Iraq to play any role to provide logistical support for the establishment of a buffer zone, he said that Baghdad and Washington know that the buffer zone is more a Turkish goal rather than being a target in the Syrian case.
The source added that Baghdad is vigilantly monitoring the developments in Eastern Syria and has informed the international sides that Iraq will never turn into a platform to create a buffer zone in Syria.
A well-informed military source said on Wednesday that the Syrian army forces will not allow the US and its western or regional allies to create a buffer zone in the Southern part of the country as a safe heaven for militants' activities.
