Rasa - Media reports said the Iraqi Army and Federal Police are preparing to launch an important offensive to seal the Syrian border-crossing into the Deir Ezzor province, as they reach the final phases of their Mosul operations.

RNA -The Iraqi Army, alongside their popular committees, launched a big operation in the Haditha area of Southwest Al-Anbar, targeting the ISIL’s final pockets in this desert region, Al Masdar reported.

 

According to Iraqi activists, their army and allies killed over 20 ISIL militants, while also destroying 3 car bombs during this important operation in the Anbar Province.

 

Once the Mosul offensive concludes, the Iraqi Armed Forces will shift their attention to the last 100km of territory in Southwest Anbar that is under the ISIL’s control, this includes the integral Al-Qa’im border-crossing.
