Rasa - Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi underlined that Iran is looking for peaceful relations with its neighboring countries, including the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) member-states.

RNA - "Iran is ready to boost balanced relations with neighboring countries such as Persian Gulf littoral states," Qassemi said.

 

He reiterated that Iran is contact with the PGCC countries, and said, "We hope that we could finally remove some obstacles hindering Iran's improvement of political relations with those countries."

 

In relevant remarks in April, Iranian Ambassador to Kuwait Alireza Enayati stressed Tehran's enthusiasm for holding talks and enhancing ties with member-states of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council.

 

"The Iranian officials welcome holding consultations with the PGCC members," Enayati told reporters in Kuwait city.

 

He referred to the a message by the Emir of Kuwait for holding talks between Iran and the PGCC member-states and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s visit to Kuwait in February, and said that the two sides have to continue sending further messages and making more visits as they are highly important for the region and that it takes some time to witness positive impacts of such moves.

 

“The only way to overcome problems is talks between Iran and the PGCC," Enayati underlined.
