RNA - "The decisions made after the inauguration of US President Donald Trump and repetition of those approaches, which have already been tested, can lead to uncontrollable consequences," General Dehqan told reporters on the sidelines of the 6th International Security Conference in Moscow on Tuesday.

The Iranian Defense Minister warned the new US administration not to make any uncalculated move or it will face Iran's tough response.

General Dehqan said that the new developments in the Middle East and other parts of the world as well as issues related to cyberspace would be on the agenda of the two-day security meeting, scheduled to open on Wednesday.

"The ways to counter Takfirism and terrorism in Syria, Yemen and across the Middle East will also be discussed at the meeting," the Iranian Defense Minister said.

General Dehqan arrived in Moscow on Tuesday evening to hold talks with senior Russian officials, specially his counterpart Sergei Shoigu.

"The Iranian Defense Minister is in Russia to attend the Sixth Moscow Conference on International Security which will be held in the Russian capital on April 26-27," Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Mehdi Sanayee told reporters on Tuesday.

The envoy said that the Iranian Defense Minister also plans a number of bilateral meetings as well as a trilateral one with Syrian Defense Minister General Fahd Jassem al-Freij.

The Sixth Conference will focus on the most critical problems of global and regional security. The plenary sessions will look closely at the issues of combating international terrorism, security problems in Europe and Asia-Pacific region, role of defense agencies in enhancing security in different regions of the world.

In mid-November, the Russian media reported that Iran and Russia began negotiating on the supply of $10 billion worth of weapons and hardware to Tehran following the successful delivery of Russia’s S-300 air defense missile systems to the country in October.

“These negotiations are being carried out, the road has been paved. The order book, discussed today, reflects the needs of Tehran and amounts to some $10 billion,” the head of the defense and security committee of the Russian upper house of parliament, Viktor Ozerov, told reporters during a parliamentary visit to Iran.

He said the arms in question include T-90 tanks, artillery systems, and various aircraft. He added that the sides did not discuss a one-time delivery, rather a number of deliveries over years.

Ozerov also noted that until 2020, deliveries can only be made with the consent of the UN Security Council. The arms in question fall under a UN moratorium on Iran obtaining weapons, in force through October 2020.

This means that if Tehran and another country agree on the supply of such products, either Tehran or the other country must seek permission for it at the UN Security Council.
