RNA - "I call for the implementation of policies directed at fostering inclusion and dialogue throughout the globe to reduce tensions brought about by terrorism and extremism," Zarif said on Monday night.
The Iranian foreign minister said that the rampant terrorism and extremism across the globe are heinous products of this outdated paradigm, adding, "We need a clear departure from paradigm of exclusion to paradigm of dialogue and inclusion based on mutual respect and equal footing."
Zarif said that as the inheritors of ancient civilians, with the necessary depth of understanding and historical reflection to appreciate that triumphs as well as trials and tribulation are but short moments in the millennial historical retrospect, adding, "We need to challenge the paradigms of might makes right, the paradigm of exclusion, which has invariably brought wars, atrocities, occupation, oppression, discrimination and displacement.”
In relevant remarks on Monday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani lashed out at the hypocrisy exercised by a number of states that have launched so-called anti-terrorism coalitions while they also support the terrorist groups.
"Today, the security of the region and the Muslim world is important and we believe that all countries should try to return sustainable security to the region based on their Islamic responsibility and good neighborliness," President Rouhani said in a meeting with Pakistani National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in Tehran.
Warning that the region is now entangled in the big plight of terrorism which should be confronted collectively, he said, "The superficial coalitions to fight against terrorism cannot have any effect on the establishment of stability and security in the region."
"The countries which have for long years supported the terrorist groups like the Taliban, the al-Qaeda and the ISIL financially and by sending arms and still continue their aid cannot claim that they are fighting against terrorism," President Rouhani underlined.
