RNA - "Asiri withdrew his past comments and said Egypt's proposal to send 40,000 ground forces was not about the war in Yemen, but was an offer to the Arab League (AL) for forming a joint Arab force," Atwan wrote in Rai al-Youm newspaper on Wednesday.

He said that the same situation also implies to the relations between Jordan and Saudi Arabia, as Amman has turned down Riyadh's demand for dispatching troops to Yemen.

"Asiri's remarks highlighted the stalemate that the Saudi-led coalition is facing now because winning the war in Yemen everyday seems farther and more costly and it is impossible for the coalition to end it with minimum casualties," Atwan underlined.

Meantime, the official spokesman of the Yemeni Armed Forces, Brigadier General Sharq Luqman, announced that the country is in possession of advanced missiles which can hit the Saudi capital.

"We have been able to develop our weapons and make progress so that they can hit the Saudi capital," Luqman told al-Mayadeen news channel in March.

Noting that Borkan-2 missile was the first missile which could target King Salman airbase, he said that new missiles are underway.

Luqman said that after hitting Riyadh, the war in Yemen will enter a new stage and all equations will change.
