The Regime Change Folly:
Rasa - Russia vetoed a UN Security Council resolution sponsored by the UK, France, and the United States against Syria for a manufactured chemical weapons attack in Khan Sheikhoun, Idlib province.
United Nation UN

RNA - According to Russia's Deputy Ambassador to the UN Vladimir Safronkov, “The main objection to the resolution is that it apportioned blame prior to an objective outside investigation of the incident. The outcome of the vote was predestined, because we disagreed categorically with a document that was fundamentally misconceived.”

No doubt accepting the resolution would have also legitimized the recent US airstrike on the Syrian airbase from where the US claims jets took off for the chemical attack. On top of this, the draft resolution was sponsored by Britain, France and the United States - the troika that has been behind the current imbroglio. They are also (as they themselves acknowledge) guilty of backing various Qaeda-allied “moderate” rebels in Syria. A reminder, they are not fit to draft a resolution prior to an independent and objective UN investigation. Their decision to blame President Bashar al-Assad is also not designed to promote peace in Syria.

Four more points in the margin, as facts have nothing to do with this ruse except insofar as they can be manipulated – or manufactured – so as to fit the preexisting regime change agenda:

1- It is hard to underestimate the paucity of objective information coming from the US-led war on Syria. The illegal war has its propaganda machine feeding media sources - from British and French media’s largely false assertions that the Syrian government drops chemical bombs on its own people for no reason at all to “fakestream” media’s claim in the United States that Moscow is trying to hide its own role in the attack.

2- The world public never believes information from the “fakestream” media, or the Qaeda-allied rebels, or the media opposition dominated by terrorist groups. The lack of British and French media’s neutral information is the case in the recent images we saw from apparent chemical attacks in Khan Sheikhoun, Idlib province, where the terrorist group of Al-Nusra Front, an Al-Qaeda offshoot, is positioned.

3- Their record speaks for itself. The British and the French governments have been helping the US and its terror proxies to overthrow Syria’s government since the beginning of the conflict – through provocations and bombs, and in alliance with Israel, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey. After deceiving Russia at the UN to get the go-ahead to regime change Libya, the global criminal syndicate - with Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Israel leading from behind - assumed that regime change in Damascus would also be a cakewalk. They misjudged everything. Because of the allied forces of Iran, Russia and Hezbollah, this never came to pass.

4- It should be remembered that despite the failed regime change campaign, the EU - Britain and France in particular – is still supporting the colonial agenda. By helping the US to draft the anti-Syria resolution at the Security Council, these international supporters of Qaeda-allied terrorists are still calling for Assad’s ouster. Because of their arms (paid and supplied by Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey) and Syria bashing at the UN, terrorist groups such as Al-Nusra Front, ISIL and Ahrar Al-Sham are now far more organized and effective at fighting than before – and indeed far more determined than ever to carry out terror attacks in Europe.

This brings us back to the current argument. This write-up is in no way an attempt to depict all the opposition groups as "terrorists." From one side, some of the opposition is not fully composed of jihadists. Militants in more regions of Syria have handed over their weapons to the Syrian Army troops and joined peace with the government. According to the Russian Reconciliation Center for Syria, militants in nearly 1,500 cities, towns, villages and regions have laid down arms and joined the peace agreement so far. This proves beyond any doubt that the government is not at war with its own people; rather with foreign-backed terrorist groups.

On the other side, there is Qaeda-allied rebel media, consisting of White Helmets (holding weapons next to Al-Nusra Front members) and other terrorists supporting the regime change campaign. It is these people that Western media outlets and governments rely on for information on sensitive issues such as the alleged Khan Sheikhoun chemical attack. Interestingly, it is also members of this particular Qaeda-allied media group that are barred from entering the United States under President Trump!

You get the idea. Western governments and “fakestream” media only present one side of the story – the regime change one – that is based on false intelligence. They tend to manufacture crisis and be biased towards atrocities committed by their own proxies and national armed forces. The result is an absence of verifiable, unbiased information emerging from the conflict, and consequently, a fundamentally misconceived UN resolution designed to apportion blame prior to an objective outside investigation of an incident, in this case, the manufactured chemical attack in Khan Sheikhoun.

Rather than acknowledging this irrefutable fact, the British and the French governments – and their media lackeys - often play staged footage they receive from the Al-Nusra Front and the Al-Qaeda-allied opposition; an opposition that even US government officials have long acknowledged is terrorist-dominated. What all this shows is how far removed the making of EU foreign policy is from actual facts on the ground, and the rational calculation of European interests. What it all comes back to is how it serves the interests of those seeking to attack Europe and those who aspire after radicalization of its citizens. This makes the EU not a player that promotes peace but a plaything that supports war-party Washington’s interests in the Syria imbroglio.
