RNA - Ghanim Salim al-Jahishi, the ISIL security leader of Baaj, was confirmed dead during the offensive, after Iraqi forces hit an ISIL's security office with heavy weapons, ARA News reported.

In Tel Afar, the Iraqi Security Forces raided a building and killed at least five ISIL members, including the group’s Emir of Tel Afar Kanaan Baris.

“The Iraqi troops launched these strategic simultaneous attacks to hunt these two security leaders of ISIL,” the head of Nineveh media centre Raafat al-Zarari said.

“The death of al-Jahishi and Baris came as a heavy blow to ISIL,” he said. “I believe that ISIL will face a serious challenge while trying to replace such key leaders.”
