Syrians Protest against US Assault

RNA - The demonstrators held banners and chanted anti-American slogans such as "Death to America" and "Death to Israel".

They referred to the 2003 US-led invasion of Iraq after Washington accused dictator Saddam Hussein of hiding weapons of mass destruction, emphasizing that "the Iraqi scenario will not be repeated in Syria."

The protesters denounced "the unjust American aggression against Syria," accusing the United Nations for its approach, saying that the organisation was "created to support America instead of serving the wronged people."

The Syrians also derided the White Helmts for the group's false flag operations against the Damascus government, questioning "how the chemicals didn't affect The White Helmets!?"

Americans also staged anti-war demonstrations across the US on Friday and Saturday to condemn President Donald Trump's decision to start military operation in Syria which killed and wounded several civilians.

Tens of people gathered outside the White House in Washington DC on Saturday to protest against US President's decision to strike Syrian Army's military base which killed and wounded civilians, as Washington claims the miliary action was in response to an alleged chemical attack on a militant-held town in Idlib province the blame for which Washington has immediately pinned on the Bashar al-Assad government.

Demonstrators chanted slogans against Donald Trump’s order and showed their support for the Syrian people, holding placards reading "No war on Syria".

Some protesters believes that Washington’s anti-Damascus war in Syria and US President's order to attack Syrian soil used to fight ISIL (Daesh) is a conspiracy.

Anti-war demonstrations have been planned for 50 cities across the US for the weekend.

Hundreds of Protesters poured to the streets in cities across the US on Friday hours after the United States carried out a missile strike on the Shayrat airfield in Homs province in Syria late Thursday.

People carried out signs denouncing the US bombing, including placards that read "Bombing Syria doesn't protect people, it KILLS THEM" and "NO! In the name of humanity, we refused to accept a fascist America."

Several protesters said they did not believe President Bashar al-Assad was behind chemical attack in Syria while Pentagon has carried out missile strike on the Shayrat airfield in Homs province in response to an alleged chemical attack on a militant-held town in Idlib province the blame for which Washington has immediately pinned on Damascus government.

They added that intervention would only make things worse and escalates the violence, voicing concern about the future of the Syrian people.

The protesting people strongly denounced interfering in Syria, asking to let the people of the country decide for themselves.

Meanwhile, the anti-war campaign group Stop the War Coalition took to the streets of London on Friday to protest the US raids against Syria.

In a message posted to the group's Facebook page, the organisation said 'No to [Donld] Trump's attacks on Syria! No to British support!'

"The Stop the War Coalition condemns Donald Trump's decision to launch attacks against Syrian targets. This action will only increase the level of killing in Syria, and inflame the terrible war that has already caused untold misery for the people of the country," the group added.

The organisation noted that "this is the worst possible way to respond to the indefensible attack at Khan Sheikhoun. As well as deepening the tragedy of the Syrian people, this utterly irresponsible act threatens to widen the war and lead the West into military confrontation with Russia."

The group slammed British Prime Minister for supporting the US military action in Syria, saying "It is shameful that Theresa May has rushed to support this act by the most xenophobic and reactionary US president in history."

It added that "Stop the War calls for protests today against this or any further attacks and against British support or participation."

Late Thursday, US President ordered the bombing of a Syrian government airfield in Homs province. According to reports, around 60 Tomahawk cruise missiles were launched on Thursday night at Syrian military airfield in Southeast of Homs city. US military ships in the Mediterranean launched the strike on Syrian airbase, killed and wounded several civilians.

The US strike has been condemned by Tehran and Moscow, two main allies of Damascus in fight against terrorism, with Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi calling it "destructive and dangerous".

Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov also stressed that Russian President Vladimir Putin “regards the strikes as aggression against a sovereign nation,” in violation of international law, “and also under an invented pretext.”

The Syrian Armed Forces' General Command has also deplored US missile attack on Shayrat military airport, adding the move made clearer that the US is a partner of ISIL and Al-Nusra Front (also known as Fatah al-Sham Front or the Levant Liberation Board) terrorists in the war-hit country.
