Rasa - A joint report by several rights groups said that Israeli forces has arrested 509 Palestinians, including 75 minors, 13 females, five journalists and one Palestinian Legislative Council member, in the West Bank and Gaza Strip in March 2017.

RNA - The report said that Israeli authorities issued 111 administration detention orders against Palestinian prisoners, including a female and a Legislative Council member in March alone, WAFA reported.

 

The report jointly compiled by the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs, Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS), Al Mezan center for Human Rights, and Prisoners Support and Human Rights Association.

 

According to the report, the total number of Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli prisons is 6,500, with 500 of them being administrative detainees, 300 minors and 62 females.

 

Israeli forces carry out raids across the occupied Palestinian territory on a near-nightly basis, with the UN recording an average of 95 weekly raids in the West Bank in 2016, and 73 weekly raids on average thus far in 2017.

 

The majority of raids are carried in cities, villages, and refugee camps located in Area A which should be under full Palestinian Authority control according to the Oslo agreements.
