RNA - "The American military invasion on Syria indicated that Washington had ignored the efforts for the settlement of crisis in the Arab country through political means," Amir Abdollahian said.
The top Iranian advisor said that this hasty military action is contrary to international law and the Charter of the United Nations, adding, "The move will reinforce extremism and terrorism in the region."
Amir Abdollahian underlined that the US military attack on Syria would encourage terrorism, underlying that the alleged use of chemical weapons by Syria while that country's chemical arsenal had already been destroyed requires close examination by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons and the UN.
Amir Abdollahian's remarks came after two US warships in the Mediterranean Sea fired 59 Tomahawk missiles at Shayrat Airfield in Homs province in Western Syria.
