RNA - "We are well-aware of Iran’s significance and influence in the region," the Arabic-language media quoted Abu Zeid as saying.
The Egyptian foreign ministry spokesman reiterated that as a big and vast regional nation, Iran remains to be an influential country.
"Egypt determines and analyzes its relations with Iran based on standards set for mutual ties, the regional conditions, and the role played by Iran in the region," he added.
Abu Zeid said that Iran has always said that it works towards creating peace and stability in the region and fighting against terrorism with the help and cooperation of the regional countries.
In relevant remarks in early January, Head of Egypt's Interests Section in Iran Yasser Ossman and Chief of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi in a meeting in Tehran discussed bilateral ties and regional developments.
During the meeting in the Iranian capital, Ossman and Salehi exchanged views on international cooperation and diplomatic ties.
