RNA - In a resolution on ensuring accountability and justice for all violations of international law in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including Eastern Jerusalem, adopted by a vote of 30 in favor, two against and 15 abstentions, the Council called upon all duty bearers and United Nations bodies to pursue the implementation of the recommendations contained in the reports of the independent commission of inquiry on the 2014 Gaza conflict, Al Waght reported.

The resolution also called for a United Nations independent international fact-finding mission to investigate the implications of Israeli regime settlements on the civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights of the Palestinian people throughout the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East al-Quds.

On the human rights in the Syrian Golan Heights occupied by the Israeli regime, the UNHRC adopted by a vote of 26 in favor, three against and 18 abstentions, a resolution calling upon the Israeli regime to desist from its continuous building of settlements and further desist from imposing Israeli citizenship on the Syrian citizens in the occupied Syrian Golan, and to desist from its repressive measures against them.

The Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki said, "The Palestinian draft resolutions were reformulated according to the rules of the international laws in accordance with the Palestinian national demands to hold Israeli leaders accountable for committing war crimes against our people."

Al-Maliki strongly denounced the statements made by the Israeli ambassador to the UNHRC, stressing that Israel’s illegal practices on the ground violate the international law.

He invited all countries that had voted against the resolutions to review their positions and to stand behind the principles of international law.

He also stressed the urgent need to prosecute the Israeli regime for violating international laws and principles, and to provide international protection for the Palestinian people.
