RNA - “The role of Kurds in new Iraq is very bright and in such atmosphere the differences should be reduced and national consensus to be attained,” Larijani said.

“The unity of Iraq and sustainable security in that country is of prime importance for us,” he added.

The Iranian parliament speaker said that Tehran has tried to move towards a stable and democratic country in Iraq since the formation of the new government in that country.

Bahaeddin, for his part, said “the voice of Iraq’s enemies shows that we are present and we thank God that the voice of Islam is loud in the entire Iraqi and we hope that these voiced would become stronger day by day”.

He went on to say that “in the Iraqi Kurdistan we are looking for Islamic goals and our efforts are aimed at reducing the differences among the Islamic movements and take the practical steps in this field”.

“We have taken practical measures in this field and we are trying to become a hurdle for the enemies of Islam,” Larijani said.

In relevant remarks on Sunday, Larijani underscored the need for prioritizing settlement of security issues and terrorism-related problems in Iraq.

"Certainly, in the current conditions, solving the security and terrorism problems in Iraq is important since the country is an important pivot in the region and certainly, resolving the Iraqi issue will lead to balance in the region," Larijani said in a meeting with former Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Adil Abdulmahdi in Tehran.

Noting that fight against terrorism is important for the region, specially Iraq, he said, "Campaign against terrorism has many deep aspects and complications and certainly defeating the terrorist groups, specially the ISIL, needs extensive regional efforts and cooperation."

Larijani also blasted certain regional Arab states for their performance in the region, and said, "Unfortunately, certain countries create hypothetical enemies for the region instead of (strengthening) synergy (among the regional countries)."
