RNA - Scott Rickard, a former American intelligence linguist, and Frederick Peterson, a congressional defense policy adviser, discuss Trump's belligerent policies in an interview with Press TV.
Rickard maintains that banning asylum seekers from entering the United States is a childish and irresponsible behavior by a “madman” whose country is directly responsible for the wars the refugees are coming from.
“When you're looking at refugees and individuals who are seeking asylum in the United States, there is a myriad of reasons behind it but the underlying root cause is tremendous amount of imperialistic warfare that the Americans have imposed on these countries,” Rickard said.
He further noted the only thing that has changed in the United States during the past years is the driver of the American imperialism machine.
“Donald Trump is easily slipped into this war criminal suit that is being worn by the American empire and what happened here is that you do create refugees and now you're not even willing to take responsibility for the suffering that you're imposing upon these other countries.”
At this point, the analyst warned, the American people are stuck with a very despotic leader who is causing "very terrible diplomatic incidents" and that is going to make the international community upset with the US.
Frederick Peterson, the other panelist on the show, international media's characterization of Trump’s executive order about refugees as “Muslim ban” was a deliberate misrepresentation.
“The position that President Trump now has taken is entirely reasonable and we should note that 58 percent of the American people are well in support of him and in support of his decisions here," he said.
