RNA - "She is making this political mistake for the second time. It seems that such remarks are a type of political gesture both for displaying power and plundering certain regional states, and finding a market for selling weapons," General Sanayee Rad said on Tuesday.

"In such conditions, Britain is after fomenting tensions in the region, and of course it has a long experience in this field, and it seems that, by continuing this trend, Britain seeks to persuade the Americans to exercise interference under the cover of resolving the regional crises and concerns," he added.

In relevant remarks on Sunday, another senior IRGC official deplored the recent remarks by May against Iran, and said Britain's policies are one of the major causes of insecurity in the region.

"The British seek to escape forward by such comments. The aliens (the trans-regional states) have been the main fomenters of insecurity in our region and Britain is among the countries which have played an important role in stirring crises and insecurity in this region and West Asia," Advisor to the Supreme Leader's Representative at the IRGC Yadollah Javani said.

Noting that meeting the regional nations' interests is one of the Islamic Revolution's goals pursued through increasing synergy among the countries of the region and ending the aliens' presence, he said, "The British are now concerned because the Islamic Revolution is attaining this goal."

Before meeting with US President Donald Trump earlier this month, May said that Iran has influences from Tehran to the Mediterranean region and that Britain should back its friends in dealing with Iran.
