On Wednesday, 26 year-old Abud resident Omar Nathir Ibrahim al-Barghouthi was shot and injuredwhile driving near Abud after Israeli forces fired shots at his vehicle, which an army spokesperson claimed was in response to shots being fired from al-Barghouthi’s car towards Israeli forces.

Local sources told Ma’an that al-Barghouthi had been taken to a hospital in Jerusalem by Israeli forces to receive medical care.

Shortly after the incident, Israeli forces raided the village of Abud at dawn on Thursday, sparking clashes during which Israeli forces fired rubber-coated steel bullets and tear gas.An Israeli army spokesperson also confirmed to Ma’an that Israeli troops raided Abud overnight and “entered and searched” al-Barghouthi’s home.An iron gate was set up at the entrance of the village early Thursday morning, with soldiers stopping and searching vehicles and passengers.
