RNA - "Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir's justification of brutal attacks against Yemeni civilians, women and children is a sign of his country's frustration and heavy defeat by strong commitment of Yemen's tireless people," Qassemi said on Wednesday.
The Iranian foreign ministry spokesman, meantime, reiterated that Saudi Arabia has waged two years of fruitless war against the Yemeni people and the kingdom's war against the innocent people of Yemen has proven to be fruitless.
Qassemi reiterated that the Saudis failed to make progress and achieve their goals in the region, and said, "Al-Jubeir's claims are against the ongoing realities of the region."
The Iranian foreign ministry spokesman underlined that it was Saudi Arabia that prepared the ground for creation and growth of terrorism in the region in previous years."
Qassemi pointed to al-Jubeir's unreal and insulting remarks against Iran, and said, "Blame game cannot clean the history of creation and spread of extremism and Saudi dynasty's role in growth of diversionary ideologies."
The Iranian foreign ministry spokesman, meantime, said that he outcome of spread of hatred in large scale will result in the growth of branches of "Takfiri terrorism in West Asia and North Africa".
Qassemi went on to say that unholy outcome of the spread of hatred was routine killing of the innocent people, looting their assets and burning their lands.
He underlined Iran's principled adherence to good neighborly relations in the region, and said, "Improvement of relations with the neighbors is Iran's top priority; Iran has taken good steps towards normalization and improvement of relations with its neighbors over past years."
The Iranian foreign ministry spokesman said that Saudi regime's open and covert sabotage has been the major obstacle in creation of a stable and safe region.
In relevant remarks earlier in January, Qassemi blasted the recent allegations by Saudi Deputy Crown Prince and Defense Minister Mohammed bin Salman against Iran, and blamed the Riyadh government for the ongoing regional crises through its support for terrorist groups.
"The Saudi government support for the Takfiri terrorist groups has led the crises in the region," Qassemi said in reaction to anti-Iran allegations made by Saudi Defense Minister Mohammad Bin Salman.
He went on to say that the regional players should correct their behavior to help bring calm and peace to the world, adding, "It is the Saudi government which should stop its organized support for the terrorist groups."
The Iranian spokesperson added that Saudi Arabia is regarded as the “cause of bloody crimes against Arab nations of Syria, Iraq and Yemen” while it has also “committed treason against Muslims, particularly the Arab world and the cause of the Palestinian people” by siding with the Israeli regime.
Qassemi said different reports by Western intelligence agencies have “repeatedly confirmed that there is a meaningful and organized connection between Saudi state bodies and extremists across the world.”
He dismissed as blame game the recent anti-Iran allegations made by Prince Salman, who is also the Saudi defense minister.
“Instead of such fruitless blame game [efforts], Saudi statesmen had better move to rectify their approach and attitude and think about the consequences of their destructive policies and measures,” Qassemi pointed out.
In an interview with the American magazine Foreign Affairs published on Thursday, Prince Salman, whose country is widely believed to be among major sponsor of terrorism, accused Iran of creating instability, encouraging terrorism and violating the sovereignty of other nations in the region.
He also called on Iran to change its outlook and behavior.
The remarks by the Saudi officials come as Riyadh has been engaged in a military campaign against its impoverished southern neighbor Yemen since March 2015. The Saudi war on Yemen has so far killed at least 12,800 Yemenis and taken a heavy toll on the country’s facilities and infrastructure.
