RNA - "The Syrian nation and army's victories were not possible without the Islamic Republic of Iran's all-out support," Abbas said in a meeting with Senior Advisor to the Iranian Parliament Speaker Hossein Amir Abdollahian in Damascus on Wednesday.
Stressing that Iran's support for Syria is not limited to the military field, she said, "The Astana meeting was the latest instance of Iran's political support for the Syrian nation in the fight against terrorism."
Amir Abdollahian, for his part, referred to the American officials' predictions at the start of the crisis in Syria that the Syrian army cannot resist against the terrorists more than three months, and said, "Now, many world elites say that Obama is gone but Bashar al-Assad has stood in place powerfully, and we are much pleased with Syria's victories."
In relevant remarks last Tuesday, Iranian First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri in a meeting with Syrian Prime Minister Imad Khamis underlined that Tehran-Damascus coordination has resulted in the recent victories against the terrorist groups in the Arab country.
"The victories earned on the battlefields in Syria are the outcome of coordination between the Iran and Syria," Jahangiri said during the meeting in the Iranian capital.
The Iranian first vice president said that it is certain that Syria owes its victories to the gallantry and steadfastness of the Syrian people, army and the fighters of the resistance axis as well as due to coordination between Iran and Syria.
“As the government and people of Iran, we have supported and assisted the Syrian people and legitimate government in the face of terrorism," he added.
