RNA – In an interview with Rasa News Agency, Musayyib al-Nu’aymi, the editor of Iran’s Arabic-language newspaper al-Wefaq, stressed that during the past few decades, the United States has given its full support to Israel and is a partner in Israel’s occupation of Palestine and has always had been involved in Israel’s crimes or hasn’t prevented them.
“At this juncture, the Zionist regime will try to influence the American government and the new Trump administration toward pro-Zionist positions and will try to take advantage of this opportunity,” he said.
The international affairs expert pointed to speculation about the US moving its embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Occupied Jerusalem and said, “Although no official position on this matter has been made, it seems that such statements have been made to evaluate the response. If the reaction isn’t severe and heavy, they will do it.”
al-Nu’aymi added, “We shouldn’t forget that, upon the approval of a resolution in regard to this action by the United Nations Security Council, the fact that an unlawful activity has been committed is obvious. Why are the West Bank, East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip considered as Palestinian territories?!”
In this regard, he noted that the plot that the Zionist regime achieved at the UN signed in 1948 doesn’t include the West Bank, East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip as part of Israel and therefore, the US needs to pass a new resolution in order to move its embassy to Jerusalem, although this will not occur.
al-Nu’aymi stressed that the Zionist lobby is looking to take advantage of the vacuum created in regard to the current political climate in the US and said, “Of course, if the Trump administration moves the US embassy, we will witness a massive response in the Muslim world.
He added, “This act will certainly be considered an illegal and illegitimate action by the US.”
The political analyst added that although Palestine, the West Bank, the Gaza Strip and Jerusalem are under the occupation of the Zionist regime, moving the US embassy to Jerusalem won’t give legitimacy to the Zionist regime and the Palestinian people will definitely continue their fight and there will be consequences.
