RNA - “On the issue of security and defending the Islamic Revolution, we will definitely not sit by (and let others threaten the country),” the senior commander said on Wednesday.

“We will certainly not let the behavior of any bullying aggressor with excessive demands and with spitefulness and enmity against the revolutionary nation and the Islamic Revolution go unanswered,” he reiterated.

Rear Admiral Fadavi referred to last year’s arrest of US sailors by Iran in the Persian Gulf, saying it proved that any act of aggression with any scope will receive appropriate response from Iran.

On January 12, 2016, two US Navy crafts carrying 10 Marines were seized by the IRGC Navy forces after reaching three miles into the waters surrounding the Farsi Island in the Persian Gulf.

The IRGC Navy released them the next day following an apology and after technical and operational investigations indicated that the intrusion into Iranian territorial waters was “unintentional”.
