Syria in Last 24 Hours:
Rasa - The Russian fighter jets hit hard the terrorists' military positions in Aleppo province, inflicting major losses on them.
Syria

RNA - The Russian warplanes carried out several combat sorties over the positions and gatherings of Jeish al-Fatah coalition of terrorist groups in the Western and Southern parts of Aleppo province, killing several of them.

 

Meantime, the Syrian army and popular forces continued their military advances in other parts of Syria, including Damascus and Homs, over the past 24 hours.

 

Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured during the Syrian army's operations in Syria's key provinces.

 

Aleppo

 

Russian warplanes carried out several combat sorties over the positions and gatherings of Jeish al-Fatah coalition of terrorist groups in Western and Southern Aleppo, inflicting major losses on the militants.

 

A large squadron of Russian Air Force jets took off from the Humeimim Airport in Southern Lattakia, and carried out several airstrikes over the terrorists' positions in Western and Southern Aleppo.

 

The warplanes specifically targeted the terrorists' defense lines at the Rashedeen 4 suburb, Dahret 'Izza, Al-Mansour, and Khan Al-'Assal South and West of Aleppo city.

 

The fighter jets also targeted Jeish Al-Fatah's positions in the Southern part of the province, hitting a number of sites along the main road from Idlib city to Khan Touman town.

 

Terrorist groups suffered a heavy death toll in the raids.

 

Damascus-Quneitra

 

Syrian army troops and air force pounded terrorists' gatherings and movements in the provinces of Damascus and Quneitra, inflicting major losses on the militants.

 

The Syrian fighter jets bombed terrorists' gatherings in the village of Ein al-Fijeh al-Qous in Wadi al-Bardi region in Northwestern Damascus, killing and wounding a number of militants.

 

The army soldiers, meantime, opened heavy machinegun fire at terrorists' movements near the village of al-Hamidiyeh in Quneitra countryside, killing or wounding several militants.

 

Reports said earlier on Friday that the army launched another powerful assault on the positions of Fatah al-Sham Front (previously known as the al-Nusra Front) in the Wadi al-Bardi, taking control over a key village in Western Ghouta.

 

Homs

 

The Syrian Army's artillery units shelled ISIL's bases in Eastern Homs, killing at least four militants, including the terrorist group's security commander.

 

At least four ISIL militants were killed and over a dozen more were wounded under the heavy fire of the Syria army's artillery units in Eastern Homs.

 

Abu Hafs al-Mashrifi, the ISIL chief of security in Homs, who used to lead the terrorist group's security operations in Homs province, was killed along with other terrorists under the Syrian army fire in the village of Huweises East of Homs.

 

A source close to the ISIL also confirmed al-Mashrifi’s death. The attack also destroyed two ISIL vehicles and a tactical unit.

 

Idlib

 

The Syrian Air Force carried out several combat flights over Jeish al-Fatah's bases after the terrorist groups violated again the ceasefire and targeted two towns in Northern Idlib.

 

The warplanes bombed heavily several times Jeish al-Fatah's bases near the village of Banish after the terrorist groups targeted residential areas in the besieged towns of Foua'a and Kafraya.

 

Also the air force attacked a meeting of terrorist leaders in the Northwestern city of Saraqib in Idlib province, killing 32 militants, including 11 commanders.

 

The Syrian fighter jets launched airstrikes on a meeting of al-Nusra Front (recently renamed to Fatah al-Sham Front), Jeish al-Islam, Ajnad al-Sham, Soqour al-Sham, al-Jibhat al-Shamiya and Faylaq al-Sham commanders which killed 32 terrorists and wounded 21 others and destroyed several of their military vehicles.

 

The attack against the meeting which hosted a number of Turkish officers and Saudi Sheikhs too, also killed 11 terrorist commanders, including the Egyptian commander of Jeish al-Fatah, namely Abu Soleiman al-Mesri.

 

After the operation, the terrorist groups detained a large number of their members and executed 5 of them who were accused of betrayal and disclosing information about the venue and time of the meeting.

 

Raqqa

 

The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have managed to drive ISIL out of 133 villages in the second phase of the Euphrates Rage Operation in Raqqa province in Northeastern Syria, SDF military sources disclosed.

 

The sources said that at least 536 ISIL members have been killed and 133 villages have been captured by the SDF since the launch of the second phase of the battle for Raqqa last month.

 

“Since December 10, 2016, our forces have been able to kill 536 ISIL fighters, taking 12 militants as captives and taking control of 133 villages in Western Raqqa,” the SDF added.

 

The SDF alliance, which includes Kurdish, Arab and Christian factions, announced that it has so far captured 2,144 km² in Western Raqqa within the second phase of the Euphrates Rage Operation that started on December 10.
