RNA - Lebanon’s success to deal with the threat of Takfiris and the Israeli regime owes much to the support provided by the Islamic Republic of Iran, Khalil Hamdan said at a meeting with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Morteza Sarmadi in Tehran on Wednesday.
He also hailed the age-old relationship between Iran and Lebanon and close ties between political and religious figures of the two nations.
The Iranian diplomat, for his part, said Tehran’s principled policy is supporting Lebanon, calling for stronger unity among the Lebanese political factions in the battle against terrorism and the Tel Aviv regime’s excessive demands.
Heading a delegation of the Amal Movement’s presiding board, Hamdan paid a visit to Iran to attend a memorial service held for Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani, a former president of Iran, chairman of the Expediency Council, and Tehran’s representative in the Assembly of Experts, who passed away at the age of 82 on Sunday.
