RNA - "The crises created in the region revealed the hypocritical face of certain regional countries and showed that they have adopted the policy of cooperating with terrorism and meeting the interests of the Zionist regime," Larijani said in a meeting with Iraqi First Vice-President Nuri al-Maliki in Tehran on Tuesday.
Warning that enemies intend to disrupt the Iraqi people and government's recent victories against the terrorists, he underlined that unity among the political groups is the key to the success of anti-terrorism efforts in Iraq.
Larijani also underscored Iran and its parliament's support for any measure that can help establish stability and security in Iraq.
His remarks came after Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan lashed out at the Riyadh government for supporting the terrorist groups in Syria and Iraq.
"Some countries led by Saudi Arabia and its corrupt system are directing terrorist currents in the region to meet the demands of the US and Israel," General Dehqan said, addressing a conference in Tehran in May.
He pointed to the Saudi regime's support for the terrorist groups in Syria, and warned, "Daesh (the ISIL) and the Al-Nusra Front as well as other terrorist groups are trying to portray a tainted image of Islam."
Also, late April, General Dehqan warned the world states of the threat imposed by terrorist groups which are supported by the US, Israel and Saudi Arabia.
"We believe that today the entire world is threatened by insecurity, instability and spread of horror resulted from acts of the Takfiri-Zionist terrorist groups which are supported by the US, Israel and certain regional countries, headed by Saudi Arabia," General Dehqan said, addressing the 2016 Moscow Conference on International Security (MCIS).
He also downplayed the effectiveness of the so-called anti-terrorism coalitions by the terrorists' supporters, saying they are not interested in serious and decisive battle against the terrorists and actually reinvigorate and recruit the terrorist groups under the disguise of humanitarian aid, truce, negotiations and deceptive slogans.
