RNA - The comprehensive military campaign by Iraqi military forces to liberate the Northern city of Mosul from ISIL militants continued on Sunday with a senior member of the Nineveh Provincial Council reporting that at least 2,000 ISIL terrorists have been killed since the start of the operations in Northwestern Iraq.
2,000 ISIL Terrorists Killed in Mosul Liberation Operation
A senior member of the Nineveh Provincial Council disclosed on Sunday that at least 2,000 ISIL terrorists have been killed since the start of the Mosul Liberation Operation in Northwestern Iraq.
Abdul Sattar al-Habo was quoted by al-Ma'aloumeh news as saying that at least 2,000 ISIL terrorists have been killed since October 17 when the Iraqi forces and popular forces kicked off the Mosul Liberation Operation.
He further added that after Iraqi forces intensified operations in the region, around 160 members of ISIL have been killed each day.
Two Elite Iraqi Units Link up for New Assault in Mosul
Two elite Iraqi units linked up in Mosul to form a joint front to advance Westward against the ISIL terrorist group in the Northern city, officers said.
The Rapid Response Division reached the Northern edge of Al-Intisar neighborhood, while the Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS) advanced to the Southern side of the adjoining Al-Quds area, Al Manar reported.
The two neighborhoods are located on the Eastern side of Mosul, where security forces have retaken multiple areas from ISIL, but the city’s West is still completely in terrorist hands.
20 ISIL Terrorists Killed in Iraqi Drone Attack in Mosul
A security source in Nineveh province disclosed minutes ago that an Iraqi combat drone bombed a gathering of ISIL in Mosul, killing at least 20 terrorists and wounding several more.
"An Iraqi CH4 drone targeted a concentration center of ISIL militants in Kornish region in the Tigris River's right bank, leaving at least 20 terrorists dead," the source said.
"It was the first time that this model of drone targeted ISIL's position in the right bank of the river in Mosul," the source pointed out.
Iraqi Forces Seize Back 2 Key Regions in Mosul City
Iraq's joint military forces continued their advances in Mosul and near the city in Nineveh province, and took control of more lands back from ISIL.
The Iraqi popular forces and Federal Police in a joint operation seized back the village of Shokran Westward of Mosul city.
A large number of ISIL terrorists were killed in fierce clashes with the Iraqi forces near Shokran village.
Meantime, Iraq's joint military forces won back al-Arkoub district in the Eastern part of Mosul city.
