Rasa - A prominent Bahraini activist underlined that the recent visit by an Israeli delegation to Manama is aimed at normalizing relations between the Zionist and al-Khalifa regimes.

RNA - "The Bahraini officials want to follow in the footsteps of the Saudi rulers who spoke of their relations with Israel despite all their arrogance," Abdolhadi al-Sharifi told on Sunday.

"The al-Khalifa regime wants to open the door of the Persian Gulf and the economic heart of the Arab states to Israel so that the Zionist occupiers can accomplish their plots against the Arab and Islamic countries through corruption," he added.

Al-Sharifi said that the al-Khalifa thinks that it can protect the shaking pillars of its regime by supporting the Zionists.

The al-Khalifa regime on many occasions has tried to normalize relations with Israel over the past months. Bahraini Foreign Minister Sheikh Khaled bin Ahmed al-Khalifah sent a message of condolences to Tel Aviv back in September to pay tribute to former Israeli president Shimon Peres.

"Rest in Peace President Shimon Peres, a Man of War and a Man of the still elusive Peace in the Middle East," Bahrain's top diplomat had posted on his Twitter account on September 29.

Also, a recent visit to Bahrain by a group of American Jewish businessmen drew the attention of Arab media outlets.

Videos and photos posted online showed the Jewish visitors and their Bahraini hosts warmly socializing and even dancing together.

Bahrain and Israel do not have official diplomatic relations. However, Israel’s behind-the-scenes ties with the Sunni Arab axis in the Middle-East have been getting stronger in recent years.
