The Arba'een march is a very important event in the Iraqi Islamic heritage, and the center, therefore, has been trying to have it officially registered as an international peaceful event where millions of Muslims gather, and have its origin established.
Arba'een is religious observance that occurs forty days after the Day of Ashura. It commemorates the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS), the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), who was martyred on the 10th day of the month of Muharram in the year 680AD.
Arba'een is one of the largest pilgrimage gatherings on Earth, in which up to 25 million people go to the city of Karbala in Iraq.
