Rasa - Israeli forces on Monday informed Palestinians in Masafer Yatta area, a Bedouin congregation South of Hebron in the West Bank, that they intend to demolish a mosque and to destroy other residential structures in the area, according to local sources.
RNA - Rateb Jabour, who monitors Israeli activities in the area, said Israeli forces handed over a notice regarding their intention to demolish the mosque in addition to 16 other residential structures, as well as to take down three solar panels under the pretext of construction without a permit, WAFA reported.
Most of the structures and solar panels are contributed by Europeans as humanitarian aid to Palestinian communities living in Israeli occupied areas hard hit by restrictions and measures.
The move by the Israeli authorities comes in the backdrop of recent UN Security Council vote on a resolution condemning the illegal settlements in occupied Palestinian lands in the West Bank.
