Syria vs. Palestine:
Rasa - Come 2017, the United Nations will mark the 50th anniversary of one of its worst political failures in modern history: the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
UN

RNA - There are several other political problems and military conflicts that the world body is completely unable to resolve as well, including the six-year-old US-led war on Syria, the Saudi-led, US-backed war on Yemen, the US-led terror war in Iraq, the widespread political chaos in Libya, the renewed violence in the Central African Republic, the continued atrocities in Darfur and South Sudan, the war and occupation of Afghanistan, as well as the rise of global terrorism.

Just like all these global crises that seem never to die, the Palestinian-Israeli conflict also cries out for a UN solution despite half a century of negotiations and unimplemented Security Council resolutions. Instead, the self-appointed Security Council member states, mainly the United States, Britain and France, prefer to whine about Iran and Russia shielding Syria and helping to liberate the terror-held city of Aleppo.

Strange enough, the globalist criminal syndicate and their UN ambassadors, Samantha Power in particular, further claim that before its liberation, the eastern district of Aleppo was democratically run by a civilian population and ‘moderate rebellion.’

After losing the battle of Aleppo, which has now joined the ranks of Gaza that defines modern evil, Western media outlets and political establishments would like us to believe they had nothing to do with this new modern evil. Instead, they have begun a smear campaign to tarnish the image of the victors of Aleppo.

They allege the allied forces have massacred the fleeing civilians from retaken territories, which is far from the truth. They refuse to acknowledge it was here that many innocent civilians were decapitated before the cameras and their heads were used to play football. They refuse to acknowledge it was here that their head-chopping “moderates” trained children as young as ten to become suicide bombers and soldiers.

Just like in occupied Palestine, the criminal hordes never bother to shout at the UN that “we need a surge in diplomacy for peace” in Syria. They say the conflict – just like the Palestinian-Israeli conflict that has never shown signs of dying in 50 years – must go on and is destined to live forever -  “unless Assad goes.”

As for the UN, its failure in Palestine is also repeating itself in Syria. As the world body commemorates the 50th year of Israel’s occupation, we need to recognize that it is in many respects but a shadow of the organization it was in 1947. Many years from now, we will still be witnessing the same kind of failure in finding a political solution to the Syrian crisis. It will be deliberately and completely paralyzed by the United States and client states, acting on behalf of Israel and global Zionism that wants nothing less than destruction of Syria.

In the prevailing environment, like their Palestinian counterparts, the people of Syria will be condemned to many years of foreign-backed terrorism and military occupation. They will be making a huge mistake if they decide to rely on the complicit UN for salvation.

UN support almost certainly will never come as it is still operating under the same constraints it has been for 50 years  – fully dominated by the US and company, an empty vessel filled only by those with privileged access. The errand body will never show any clear will to cooperate in relation to the enormous challenges that the people of Syria will be facing together.

It is now up to the people of Syria to decide what kind of future is possible. Logic dictates all those that say black is white, supply terrorist organisations, blast the victors of Aleppo, stoke sectarian violence, and bring misery, destruction and bloodshed to Syria in order to protect Israel cannot have any say in Syria’s future. If half a century of UN failure in Palestine is any indication, playing defence is not an option for the citizens of Syria either. Otherwise, their struggle is lost.
