RNA - Akhil Aid described imminent freedom of Aleppo as a strategic development, and said Aleppo's strategic importance is equal to Damascus and it is even more significant economically.
"The western countries which support terrorists have been witnessing their fall in Aleppo in recent days and are attempting to ratify a ceasefire resolution at the UN Security Council to prevent the failure their plots against Syria," he told FNA on Saturday.
Noting that the Arab Sheikhdoms in the Persian Gulf are the biggest supporters of terrorists in Syria by their petrodollars, Aid said the big gap among the terrorist groups indicates that they don’t follow any cause and the title they had created for themselves as 'Syrian revolutionaries' was nothing but a big lie made by the westerners.
He concluded that the messages received from Idlib also say that the people in the province want the Syrian army and its allies to rescue them from the terrorists' hands.
Syrian officials had also earlier described the Aleppo battle as an instance of the toughest civil wars, and said the army's victory in this battle promises liberation of all parts of Syria from the terrorists' control.
Syrian Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad underlined the continued advance of the army and popular forces in liberating different parts of Aleppo, and said the terrorists should dig their own graves after the siege is complete.
"The Aleppo battle is war against terrorism and it lies with efforts that the Syrian government is making in cooperation with its allies to eradicate terrorism in Aleppo," Mikdad said in July.
Noting that the world community is sensitively pursuing the Aleppo battle, he expressed the hope that the Syrian army would earn victory in the war on terrorism.
