RNA - Israeli forces detained seven Palestinians, including three ex-detainees, during raids into several West Bank districts, in addition to a teenager in the Jerusalem area on Sunday, said the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS). Meanwhile media revealed the Israeli authorities have recently started to build 140 housing units in Ramat Shlomo settlement in occupied Eastern Jerusalem.

RNA - PPS said three Palestinians, including two freed detainees, were detained by Israeli forces in the Jenin area. Forces also detained a freed detainee from Hebron’s al-Fawwar refugee camp, WAFA reported.

Israeli soldiers further detained two Palestinians from the Bethlehem area, in addition to a youth from Nablus’ town of Beit Furik.

PPS noted that a 19-year-old Palestinian from the Jerusalem area turned himself over to the Israeli police after spending two years under house arrest.

To be noted, at least 11 Palestinians have detained by Israeli forces during the past two days.

Meanwhile according to Palestinian observers, the move by Israeli authorities is part of Israel’s plan to impose new faits accomplis on the ground in order to eliminate any chance for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, Palestine Info reported.

These units in Ramat Shlomo settlement will be in five apartment buildings and will be sold to settlers.

Last week, The Israeli authoritoes also revived an initiative for constructing 500 new illegal settler units in East Jerusalem after the suspension of the project due to international pressure.

The Israeli anti-settlement NGO, Ir Amim, said that the Jerusalem municipality had decided to go ahead with the plan on Wednesday.
