Rasa - The head of Lebanon's international airport denied Israel's latest claim that Iran was using commercial airline flights to smuggle weapons to the Lebanese resistance movement of Hezbollah.

RNA - The Israeli regime’s allegations are “completely devoid of truth”, he said, noting that Tel Aviv is attempting to damage Lebanon's reputation, Reuters reported.

The remarks came after Israel’s UN envoy Danny Danon in a letter on Tuesday leveled a series of accusations against Iran, including smuggling of weapons to Lebanon's Hezbollah on board commercial flights.

Later, Iran's Ambassador to the United Nations Gholam Hossein Dehqani condemned the letter and said, "At least, a regime that has brazenly flouted all UN General Assembly and Security Council resolutions about the lands it criminally occupies is not in a position to broach such a claim against other nations.”

He further said the accusations are "all a typical Israeli attempt to smoke screen their criminal policies and acts against the innocent Palestinians, including keeping a two-million community under siege for 10 years" in the Gaza Strip.
